Transportation Study: Port Road

The scope of this study is a 2-mile section of Port Road in Harris County from State Highway (SH) 146 to Todville Road.

Current Conditions

The current road is undivided with two, 12-foot travel lanes.

Proposed Improvements

Proposed improvements include:

Widen to four, 12-foot travel lanes
Construction of a raised median
Construction of 12-foot turning lanes
Ultimate construction will be to six, 12-foot travel lanes and construction of a five lane boulevard at the east end of the project

Partners

This study is a partnership between TxDOT and the Port of Houston Authority. On May 26, 2009, the Federal Highway Administration (FHA) issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for this project.
